The National Address was granted recognition by the United Nations and international organizations. It has been considered as a benchmark for creating an infrastructure for the smart developed address. The regional and international specialized organizations has adapted the national address, it is worth mentioning that the Kingdom has now been granted a seat in the International Addressing Committee which is a part of the (UPU).

National Address approved by SASO
National Address was adapted as Standard metric for Postal Addressing System by Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) in the article title (The Unified National Numbering System for Postal Addresses SQM 2009/2777). SASO adapted this standards after formal review and technical standards development by a specialized committee. Several government and private sector parties seated in this specialized committee such as: National Information Center (NIC) of Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Higher Education represented by King Abdul-Aziz University, Ministry of Municipalities and Rural Affairs represented by the Municipality of Makkah, as well as the participation of two parties from the private sector, including representatives from the Saudi Post Corporation.
Achieving the International Standard Certificate (S42)
Considered as one of the 17 global countries that managed to apply the latest international addressing standards, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the Saudi Post Corporation was granted with the International Standard Certificate (S42) on the 2nd International Addressing Summit held by the (UPU) in Bering, due to the invention of the addressing system that has been successfully developed and implemented in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia especially after it has been considered by the addressing experts as one of the best and most developed international systems.
Achieving ISO/TC 211
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Post Corporation, has been granted the International Applied Addressing Standard Certificate by Bashar Hussein, the General Secretary of the (UPU), an affiliate of the United Nations. As mentioned previously, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the 17 global countries that has been granted this prestigious certificate resulting into the development of the national addressing standard and matching it with the international committees’ digital geographical technical standards (ISO/TC 211) specifically for addressing (ISO 19160). Presidency of the International Address Committee
Saudi Arabia was elected for Presidency of the International Address Committee under United Postal Union for 2013-2016 term. This achievement was a recognition of Saudi Post initiatives and contribution to the international addressing system. Read more
GIS Technology Innovation Award from ESRI
Saudi Post is awarded for the pioneer project of innovating a new Postal Addressing System, which is one of the most accurate systems in the world in the field of locating an address, which has resulted in the identification of more than two million postal addresses of the residential and commercial locations in the Kingdom with the accuracy up to one meter.
